The Roman Villa delle Grotte probably dating back to the I Century b.C., is the only one on the island that was not covered by other buildings, until it became a strategic military place in the XVIII century.

The villa was rediscovered with the archaeological digs between the 60s and the 70s, and today the structure and all the adjacent lots can be entirely visited.
